Obama supporters first!

Frankly I’m getting tired of getting messages telling me that we [PUMA] need to support party unity, the purpose of an election is choosing a president; Not getting your party’s candidate elected. However I have a challenge for Obama supporters that want unity, why don’t you guys stop trying to hurt congressional candidates that supported Clinton, I mean come on these primaries that are going on are hurting the party’s chances, no? And then we want to change the way politics works, no? So come on guys, roll up your sleeves and help Rep. SheilaJackson Lee, Stephanie Tubbs Jonesand all the other Black Caucus Members that supported Hillary and prove that YOU believe your change message. Then we can talk about supporting Obama, AFTER their primaries.

President Clinton is “supporting” Obama

What else is he to do? Endorse John McCain? The Clintons are paving the way for a 2012 run for president and they won’t be able to win the White House unless they have the democratic party, which will never support a candidate that endorsed their opponent four years before? Therefore President Clinton’s half hearted endorsement of Obama. For Hillary Clinton supporters: Vote John McCain so Hillary can win four years from now.

Let Obama Dream: He won’t carry Virginia

Even though Mark Warner will likely win the senate seat for Virginia, Obama won’t be able to carry Virginia. Virginia is a conservative state and as such will only support centrist democrats like Senator Webb, Governor Kaine, Senator Clinton and Governor Warner. Ok, so the liberal or northern Virginia will go for Obama, not the rest of the state. Only liberals vote in democratic primaries in Virginia, if it was a General Election contest Hillary Clinton would have Beat Obama.

WOW! GOP for Warner?

So right now here in Virginia we’re having a Senate race for John Warner (R-VA)’s seat. The candidates are Jim Gilmore(R) and Mark Warner(D), interestingly both of them are former governors of Virginia, Warner succeeded Gilmore as Governor and had to clean up his mess. Well Warner did such a great job at it that he has the endorsement of the two top republicans in the Virginia Legislature during both his and Gilmore’s time as governor. That’s what you call bi-partisan. Of course Mark Warner is by far the front runner in the race as probably Virginia’s most popular former governor (and Gilmore least favorite). Mark Warner ‘08!

Obviously I like Mark Warner.
